About Us
“A place where quiet and a slower pace are premium.”
The Inn is really an excuse to store our antiques. They are the "live-with" kind. We have been collecting them for many years, and they include items from our respective families.
SITTING ROOM
The Inn was built 2003-2004, with state of the art conveniences in mind. We are definitely off the beaten path. It is a peaceful spot, with respect for your privacy and reflection. On the other hand there is a shopping center and multiplex theater within six (6) miles of the Inn.
We have traveled many places - China, Tunisia, Egypt, Europe, Malaysia, the middle east, and the good ole' USA. And, in our wanderings we have said a number of times "If I was running this place I sure would do ------". So we have!! Even so, no one is perfect, and we welcome your suggestions and comments.
Our family ended up at five children (all grown) and umpteen bizzillen grand children. So the Inn serves as a gathering place at times like Thanksgiving and Christmas. But not every year, so if being here on one of those holidays strikes you as a good idea, let us know!
CUMBERLAND FALLS (35 minute drive)
The only falls in the world that offers a moon bow on the evening of the full moon each month.
The back of the Inn overlooks Lake Cumberland, the South Fork of the lake. Our deck is comfortably close to the edge of the cliff. Watching the boats go by is enjoyable - we can lend you a pair of binoculars. We also have hawks with six-foot wingspans that glide by. We do get visits from deer, fox, and other small animals plus birds that visit our feeders continuously. The woods around us have several spots to just sit, listen and watch for "whatever". Under "ROOM PICTURES" is a photo of the inn from across the lake as it sits on the cliff - with the resident birds that soar on thermals sitting on a ledge below.
We also like having people around. So we have a large deck and screened in porch for "hanging out". Or you can go your own way, find a quiet place in our woods or visit the many interesting sights in the area. We have maps and information that may help your plans to explore.
